Prescription Eye Glasses Services in Upton Park

When you go to an optician, it usually takes about a week for them to prepare your glasses. This is because your spectacles would have to be produced in a lab. Once completed, it will be returned to the optician for you to pick it up.

Here at Specialeyes Eyecare, we have a lab right here at our Green Street store, so we can make your prescription glasses the very same day you order them (in less than 15 minutes after your eye examination). Most single-vision prescriptions can be fitted on the same day. If we don't have your lens in stock, we can order it and have it made in store for you. That way, we can work more quickly and deliver your glasses to you sooner.

To provide you with speedier and more personalised service, we have formed partnerships with local lens production labs. This enables us to order custom-made lenses to your exact specifications.

Once you've decided on a frame, you'll have several lens choices to choose from. We have a comprehensive choice of lens solutions available at our Green Street optician to optimise optical performance. These include Bifocal, Varifocal, single vision distance, and single vision reading lenses. We also have a large selection of lens coatings.

Lens Coatings

If you spend a lot of time staring at a screen and want to keep your eyes and lenses safe, you may want to consider investing in some lens coatings. Lens coatings can greatly improve performance. Some of the coatings we provide are as follows:

Lenses with a scratch-resistant coating (anti-scratch)

These lenses are thermally treated with an additional layer to prevent scratches and make the lens more durable. This is used on plastic lenses since they scratch more easily than glass.

Coating to reduce glare - Anti-Reflective coating

Anti-reflection coatings increase the quality of your lenses by reducing glare from outside light sources. All of our antiglare lenses have scratch resistant coatings and are hydrophobic, making them easier to clean.

Super Hydrophobic - Easy clean coating

An easy clean coating is an additional coating that is applied to antiglare lenses to give excellent scratch resistance and hydrophobic qualities. As a result, these lenses are easy to clean and have less smearing. They also have a UV 400 coating. A UV coating can help prevent problems like macular degeneration and cataracts by preventing harmful rays from getting through the lens and into your eye.

Blue Tec - Blue antiglare coating

This lens is an excellent antiglare lens that protects against both blue and green light. Our blue antiglare coating includes a super hydrophobic coating and is very easy to clean. It also has a superior UV 420 filter. This coating offers the best protection against artificial and natural light. This lens is great for individuals who spend a lot of time staring at computers or other devices.

Advanced driving coating

The driving coating is a coating developed to increase driver safety in low-light conditions such as rain, fog, and night time driving. In addition to the UV 400 protection, this lens features a hydrophobic coating which increases scratch resistance.

Tinted or reactive lenses

If you are sensitive to sunlight or would just like prescription tinted lenses, at Specialeyes Eyecare Upton Park we have a large selection of lenses to choose from. Here are some of the lenses we offer:

Tinted Lenses – Prescription Sunglasses

These lenses are sometimes referred to as prescription sunglass lenses. This lens would be produced in a colour that you choose, and it is possible it could be delivered on the same day if we have both the lens and the colour choice that you want available. You also have the option to have a graduated tint, which means that the top of the lens will be tinted to a darker shade than the rest of the lens, and the tint will progressively become lighter as you move down the lens.

Reflective Tint

Reflective tints have an additional optical layer that reflects light. Because of the reflective coating, it appears exactly the same as a mirror; hence, these sunglasses are also referred to as "mirrored sunglasses." They shield our eyes from glare during the day as well as excessively bright light, which ultimately improves our visibility. But that's not all: The reflective coating on these glasses makes them extremely scratch-resistant.

Polarized glasses

Polarised lenses are a form of tinted lens that blocks all horizontally reflected light. Most of the reflections you see through your glasses will be blocked. Because they block most reflections, these lenses can be used to see through water. It is a lens that is more comfortable than a regular tinted lens and is ideal for those who are sensitive to sunlight or spend time near water.

Transition 8

Transition Signature 8 lenses are the market's most recent and fastest 'react to light' (photochromic) lenses. The lens functions by reacting to UV light emitted by the sun. It is available in three standard colours (Grey, Brown, and Graphite green). They are also available in a variety of custom colours (Emerald, Sapphire, Amethyst, Amber).

Polarised Transition 8

This lens employs TRANSITIONS® DRIVEWEAR® technology. When exposed to sunshine, the polarised lens transforms into a darker lens colour. It is suggested for daytime driving or as an upgrade to standard polarised lenses. This lens is only available in brown.

Transition XTRActive

Because car windscreens have a UV filter, typical transition lenses do not respond as much to sunlight while in the car. This is due to the way transition lenses respond to UV light generated by the sun. Transitions XTRActive lenses are a new kind of lens that turns exceptionally dark outside while also reacting to sunlight inside the vehicle. In hot temperatures, they are the darkest photochromic intelligent lenses.

Thinner lenses

  • 1.50 (plastic)-advised for prescriptions ranging from 0.00 to 2.50

Rimless Glasses

It was in the 1800s that rimless glasses first appeared. Wearing rimless eyewear will give the impression that you aren't even wearing glasses. If you require glasses but are self-conscious about how others will see them, rimless frames are a great option. They are light and comfortable, and won't weigh you down or cause any discomfort. Because they are so light, they need polycarbonate lenses, which are very strong but also very light.

Polycarbonate lenses

Polycarbonate lenses come at a 1.59 index, so they are lighter and thinner than the usual plastic lenses (1.50). Additionally, they are 10 times more impact-resistant than plastic or glass lenses and give protection from the sun's damaging UV rays. As a result of their low weight, high level of comfort, and high resistance to impact, these lenses are great for rimless and safety glasses.
