Specialeyes Eyecare Optician in Uxbridge Road, Shepherds Bush

Specialeyes Eyecare Opticians is an Independent Optician with three locations in London. After recognizing the differences in service provided by different opticians, we decided to open an optician that delivers the best service for all patients, NHS or private. Specialeyes Eyecare opticians was established in 2012, with the opening of our first location in Willesden. We have always prioritised providing personalised care to our patients.

At Specialeyes Eyecare Opticians, we are always looking for new ways to improve our efficiency and patient care. With modern innovations in opticians' technology and our on-site glazing lab we are able to provide same day glasses. This reduces the time it takes us to provide conventional glasses to our patients from around one week to as little as 15 minutes. This is helpful for if you need an emergency pair of glasses made.

Prescription Glasses In Less Than 15 Minutes Shepherds Bush

Normally when you go to an optician, they would take approximately one week to get your glasses ready. This is because your glasses would need to be sent to a lab to be made. Once it has been made it will then be sent back to the optician for you to collect.

At Specialeyes Eyecare optician in Shepherds Bush, we have a lab in our store in Shepherds Bush which means we can make your prescription glasses on the same day (in less than 15 minutes after your eyes examination). We can make most single vision prescriptions on the same day. If we do not have your lens in stock, we are able to order them and make them in store for you. This allows us to be more efficient and allows you to get your glasses at a faster time.

This allows us to more accurately assess the health of the retina and help diagnose eye conditions at an earlier stage. At SpecialEyes Eyecare, we provide a free OCT scan with every eye test.
  • 04 Is there a difference between a contact lens test and an eye test?

An eye test is a test where an optician tests the quality of your vision and your eye health for any conditions. Eye tests also check for your prescription in glasses which is different to the prescription for contact lenses.
During a contact lens test we will check the health of the front surface of your eye. We will also measure the shape of the eye. From this information we will select a lens suitable for your eye shape and health as well as finding the appropriate prescription for contact lenses
  • 05 What tests are used in the eye examination?

When you arrive to our optician we will first do a pre-screening examination to get some general information about the health of your eyes.
During the pre-screening, we will take measurements of the shape of your eye and may need to take pressure readings of your eyes.
We also do A free OCT retinal scan for anybody who does an eye test with us. This helps us to diagnose any eye conditions and also to help monitor the health of your eyes over time.
You will then be taken for your eye examination where the optometrist will do all the necessary tests required.
  • 06 Can I have a contact lens test without an eye test?
